A fantasy adventure series by Taz Starling for readers ages 6–9.
Leo and Maya are Junior Guardians learning to protect people, recover missing knowledge and solve mysteries in a world of hidden passages and ancient mechanisms. Each adventure turns curiosity, teamwork and a thoughtful choice into meaningful action.
Storytelling approach
Each Templar Guardian Academy adventure gives Leo and Maya a mystery they can investigate and a choice that matters to other people. The stories connect extraordinary settings with recognizable experiences: making a mistake, listening to a partner, changing a plan and deciding when to ask for help.
Younger-reader adventures use clear immediate goals, adult Guardian guidance and problems that depend on observation and cooperation. The characters have meaningful work to do, while the limits of their knowledge and protection remain part of the story. Discussion can begin with a simple question: what did they notice, and how did it change what they chose?
A note for educators
These are works of fantasy. Real places provide settings for invented Guardian sites, artifacts and events. The stories invite discussion about evidence, responsibility, cooperation and the choices characters make. Their fictional mechanisms are not scientific or historical explanations of the places depicted.
